Notifications

Notifications from every app, shown by your computer, and how to choose what you get.

Viremail shows notifications the way your computer does: new mail, pings and calls, reminders, tasks, shares, business updates and security alerts. The bell keeps them all, so you can catch up later.

  1. After you sign in, Viremail asks once. Choose Turn on, and allow notifications when your browser or computer asks.
  2. Open Settings, Notifications to see if they are on for this device, send a test, and choose what you get app by app. Security alerts always come.

If notifications are off or blocked on a device, Viremail shows them inside the app instead, as before.

In the desktop app, an email's notification has Mark as read, each app's notifications are grouped together, and Open System Settings takes you straight to Viremail's notification settings on a Mac or Windows. Focus and Do Not Disturb on your computer work as usual.

When a call comes in while Viremail is in the background or behind another app, you get a system notification with Answer and Decline, in Chrome, Edge and the desktop app on a Mac. Elsewhere a click on it opens the call.

Inside Viremail, choose Minimise on the incoming call screen (or press Esc) to keep working: the call waits in the corner with Answer and Decline until you pick one. Click the name to open the full screen again.

In a browser, notifications also arrive with Viremail closed once they are on. Installing the app makes this more reliable: see Install the app.

If you blocked notifications by mistake, Settings, Notifications shows how to allow them again.
